Trump: US Fighting 'War From Within' | JQJO

President Trump described the U.S. as fighting a "war from within" against domestic enemies in American cities, alarming House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries who called the remarks "disturbing." Speaker Mike Johnson, however, stated the comments show Trump takes crime seriously, though he suggested the remarks were "cherry-picked." Trump's statements, made to top generals, referenced efforts to increase military involvement in cities he deems in "bad shape," a move opposed by Jeffries who stressed the military's role is for external threats. Trump's comments follow his controversial deployment of federal troops to Portland.
