Trump to Meet Amid Looming Shutdown | JQJO

President Trump is planning a meeting this week with Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries to avert a government shutdown. Competing funding proposals failed in the Senate, with Republicans pushing a bill until November 21st and Democrats proposing an extension to October 31st, incorporating healthcare priorities. Democrats refuse to support a bill lacking healthcare provisions, blaming Republicans for potential shutdown. Trump expressed uncertainty about the meeting's impact, acknowledging the possibility of a government shutdown.
