A British couple, Peter and Barbie Reynolds, detained in Afghanistan by the Taliban since February, have been released. The release followed months of Qatari-mediated negotiations after UN experts warned of their deteriorating health. The couple, who ran a training business in Afghanistan for 18 years, were held in Kabul's central prison before being moved to a better facility. They'll receive medical care in Qatar before returning to the UK. The reasons for their arrest remain unclear.
