Lawsuit: West African migrants deported from US in straitjackets

A lawsuit filed in Washington accuses the U.S. government of forcibly deporting five West African migrants to Ghana, where they were shackled and restrained on a flight before being held in squalid conditions. The migrants, who fear returning to their home countries, were not originally from Ghana and claim their deportation violates U.S. immigration law. The lawsuit alleges the U.S. used Ghana to circumvent immigration rulings and seeks an immediate halt to such deportations. The Homeland Security Department and ICE have not yet commented.
