After ruling against LA Guard use, Trump vows more deployments : NPR

A federal judge ruled that President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles violated the Posse Comitatus Act, which restricts the military's role in civilian law enforcement. The judge found that the National Guard performed prohibited law enforcement duties, such as participating in raids and traffic blockades alongside federal agents. While the ruling is specific to Los Angeles, it doesn't impact other National Guard deployments. Despite the ruling, Trump announced plans to send the National Guard to Chicago, a move opposed by Illinois' governor. The judge's decision can be appealed.
