GPS jamming incidents, blamed on Russia, are increasing near its borders. Ursula von der Leyen's plane experienced this while flying to Bulgaria, one of nearly 80 similar incidents since 2022. While Russia claims it's for defense, Baltic nations report widespread disruptions to air, sea, and drone navigation. Although alternative navigation systems exist, the reliance on GPS creates a risk of accidents, especially at sea. Bulgaria won't investigate the incident due to the frequency of such events.
