Iran boosts uranium stockpile to near weapons-grade, UN report reveals

A UN report reveals Iran significantly increased its near-weapons-grade uranium stockpile before Israeli attacks in June. As of June 13th, Iran possessed 440.9 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%, a 32.3-kilogram increase since May. This is concerning as approximately 42 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium could theoretically create a nuclear bomb. Iran suspended cooperation with the IAEA, hindering inspections. The IAEA's director-general urges a resumption of inspections, while Iran proposes a new, case-by-case inspection arrangement. Sanctions against Iran are imminent unless a diplomatic agreement is reached.
