Faster Acela Trains? Is Your Trip REALLY Upgraded?

Amtrak's NextGen Acela high-speed trains are now running between Boston, New York, and Washington D.C., reaching speeds of 160 mph. These new trains, built in upstate New York, offer upgraded amenities like larger windows, faster Wi-Fi, and more seating. The 28 new trains, expected to be fully operational by 2027, represent a significant upgrade to Amtrak's Northeast Corridor service, boasting improved safety features and technology exceeding other trains in the world. The NextGen Acela aims to provide a faster, more comfortable travel experience, though top speed remains lower than some international counterparts due to existing track infrastructure.
