Your Android Apps? 50X More Malware Lurks! Act Now!

Starting in 2026, Google will require verification for all Android app developers on certified devices. This means only apps from verified developers can be installed, combating malware and financial scams. The rule applies to all installation methods, including sideloading. While developers retain distribution freedom, this move aims to reduce harmful apps, particularly in countries like Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, where fraudulent apps are prevalent. Google plans phased rollout, beginning with select developers in October 2025 and expanding globally in 2027.
