Oscar winner Nicolas Cage is in negotiations to star in the fifth season of HBO's True Detective. The new season, written and showrun by Issa Lopez (Season 4), will be set in New York's Jamaica Bay. Cage would play detective Henry Logan. While a deal isn't finalized, filming is planned for 2026 with a 2027 premiere. This season will connect to the events of Season 4, but features a new story and characters. This marks Cage's second major series role after his upcoming Prime Video series.
