Devastating wildfires are raging across western Spain, fueled by record heatwaves and drought. Over 343,000 hectares have burned, exceeding previous records. Thousands of firefighters, aided by soldiers and international support, are battling more than 20 major blazes. Four deaths have been reported in Spain and two in Portugal, both from road accidents. Thousands have evacuated their homes, as the fires, now in their second week, pose a significant threat to communities.
