Italy's Mount Vesuvius, a popular tourist destination, closes over wildfire

A large wildfire is raging on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius in Italy, prompting the closure of all hiking trails in the Vesuvius National Park. Twelve firefighting teams and six Canadair planes are battling the blaze, which has spread across 500 hectares since Friday. The army is assisting by creating firebreaks, and drones are being used for monitoring. The fire's smoke is visible from Pompeii, though the site remains open. Authorities are investigating the fire's cause, and experts link the increased wildfire risk to rising temperatures due to climate change. Similar wildfire incidents are reported in Spain and France.
