U.S. may require some visitors to post bond of up to $15,000 for entry : NPR

The U.S. State Department proposes a pilot program requiring some business and tourist visa applicants to post bonds of up to $15,000. This applies to citizens of countries with high visa overstay rates or weak document security. The 12-month program aims to mitigate financial liability for the U.S. government if visa terms are violated. The affected countries will be specified later. This is the latest in a series of stricter visa application measures from the Trump administration.
