A total solar eclipse, dubbed the 'eclipse of the century', will occur on August 2, 2027, lasting up to 6 minutes and 23 seconds. This will be the longest total solar eclipse until 2114. While a partial eclipse will be visible in parts of Maine, the best viewing locations will be in southern Spain, northern Morocco, northern Algeria, and particularly outside Luxor, Egypt, experiencing the longest totality. A shorter solar eclipse will be visible in parts of Europe and North America in August 2026.
