Plane missing in Russia’s Far East with nearly 50 aboard

A Soviet-era Antonov An-24 passenger plane carrying 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members, disappeared from radar near Tynda airport in Russia's Amur region. A search and rescue operation discovered a burning fuselage, and Russian state media reports indicate all aboard are feared dead. The plane, operated by Angara Airlines, was on a regional route from Khabarovsk to Blagoveshchensk and Tynda when it lost contact. The remote and swampy terrain is hindering rescue efforts.
