A wildfire, sparked by lightning on July 4th, destroyed the Grand Canyon's North Rim Lodge and other structures. Arizona's Governor Hobbs is calling for a federal investigation into the National Park Service's initial "contain and confine" strategy, which was later replaced by aggressive suppression efforts as the fire rapidly grew to nearly 8 square miles. The North Rim is closed for the year, impacting a smaller portion of the park's annual visitors. No injuries were reported, but 50-80 structures were lost. Other wildfires are burning across the West.
