Giant 13-inch shoes found in ancient Roman fort near Hadrian’s Wall

Archaeologists excavating Magna Fort, a Roman military site along Hadrian's Wall, unearthed unusually large Roman shoes. Eight shoes measured over 11.8 inches, significantly larger than the average Roman shoe. This discovery suggests the fort may have housed unusually tall soldiers from various parts of the Roman Empire. The shoes' excellent preservation, despite the changing climate, is aiding research into the lives of the fort's inhabitants. Further investigation aims to identify the owners of the giant shoes and learn more about their daily lives.
