Major General Mikhail Gudkov, deputy commander of the Russian Navy, was killed in a Ukrainian strike in Russia's Kursk region, according to Primorsky Krai governor Oleg Kozhemyako. The attack, which also killed other Russian service members, reportedly targeted a command post in Korenevo. Ukraine has not yet commented on the incident. This follows a Ukrainian cross-border incursion into Kursk Oblast in August 2024, which Russia later repelled with the support of North Korean troops.
