Rubin Observatory releases 'sneak peek' of first images taken with world's largest camera

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory released stunning preview images from its new camera, showcasing nebulae and galaxies in unprecedented detail. One image depicts the Trifid and Lagoon nebulae, while another shows the Virgo cluster with its spiral galaxies. This next-generation telescope, located in Chile, will begin a 10-year sky survey later this year, creating the largest optical astronomy dataset ever assembled. The data will aid research into dark matter, dark energy, and the solar system.
