A new Pew Research Center study reveals Islam as the world's fastest-growing religion, increasing by 347 million between 2010 and 2020, primarily due to high birth rates. Christianity, while still the largest religion globally, saw a 1.8% decline, largely due to higher population growth among non-Christians. The religiously unaffiliated population is the third largest, experiencing significant growth, particularly in North America and Europe. Buddhism is the only religion to show a decrease in membership. The study utilized data from various sources across 201 countries.
