Pope Leo XIV, in his first general audience, urged humanitarian aid for Gaza and an end to hostilities. Addressing approximately 40,000 people in St. Peter's Square, he renewed his appeal for aid access and cessation of violence harming civilians. He also reaffirmed the Vatican's offer to host Russia-Ukraine ceasefire talks, following a call from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni who confirmed the offer with President Trump and other European leaders.
