Google held a pre-I/O Android showcase, the Android Show: I/O Edition, on May 8th, 2025. The event previewed Android 16 features including a visual redesign, Live Activities, a potential desktop mode, and enhanced security measures against scams. Auracast support was also confirmed. While some details were revealed, Google saved major announcements, particularly around Gemini AI, for its main I/O conference on May 20th. The showcase also highlighted new Android phones and the Find Hub's expanded capabilities.
