Novo Nordisk secured a significant legal victory against compounding pharmacies producing unauthorized versions of its weight-loss drug Wegovy and diabetes treatment Ozempic. A Texas federal judge rejected a bid by compounding pharmacies to continue producing these copycat drugs, upholding the FDA's declaration that the semaglutide shortage is over. This follows another win for Novo Nordisk against a compounding pharmacy, and similar legal actions by Eli Lilly concerning its drugs. The FDA can now pursue legal action against pharmacies making compounded semaglutide.
