Sardinia, Italy is implementing a new digital reservation system for beach access to combat overtourism. Popular beaches like Cala Brandinchi and Lu Impostu in the north will limit visitors to those with pre-booked QR codes via a dedicated app or website, from June 1st to September 30th. Similar systems are planned for the south coast. This follows other strict tourism regulations already in place across the island, highlighting Italy's efforts to manage the influx of tourists, particularly from the approximately six million Americans who visited in 2023.
