Prince Andrew’s decision to stop using titles including Duke of York has intensified pressure on Buckingham Palace and the government to go further, with critics urging removal of his princely status and even eviction from his Windsor home. The move followed emails suggesting he stayed in contact with Jeffrey Epstein longer than admitted and comes days before Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s memoir alleging encounters with Andrew. Opposition lawmakers want Parliament to strip his dukedom, while ministers say such matters rest with the royal family. Police are reviewing claims Andrew sought to smear Giuffre in 2011.

President Donald Trump, hosting Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House, predicted a “fantastic” trade deal with China and said Beijing now shows the U.S. “great respect” after his tariff threats. He vowed to add a 100% tariff on Nov. 1 if no agreement emerges with President Xi Jinping at the upcoming APEC summit, even as he called such a levy “not sustainable.” Beijing pushed back on the tariff rhetoric and removed its top trade negotiator, ousting Li Chenggang. Trump also downplayed fears over Taiwan, citing U.S. military superiority.

The Kitchen, Food Network’s weekend talk show, will end in December after 40 seasons and more than a decade on air. Hosts Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro and Geoffrey Zakarian, with recurring host Alex Guarnaschelli, shared heartfelt farewells. Biegel called it “the end of an era,” thanking fans and saying the series was her greatest professional honor. Bobby Flay praised its “iconic run.” Mauro reflected on a dozen years of cooking and laughter—and memorable moments with guests—adding that, despite sadness, he feels grateful and optimistic.

Detroit opened fast, piecing together a six-play, 69-yard march capped by Amon-Ra St. Brown’s 27-yard touchdown for a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. Tampa Bay’s first series went nowhere after Jack Campbell sacked Baker Mayfield and the Lions pressured again on third down. Later, it was ruled Yaya Diaby knocked the ball loose from Jared Goff before his arm moved forward, setting up a Buccaneers chance. The updates also cite Jared Goff’s 14 TD passes entering Week 7, Detroit’s big home scoring, and Tampa Bay’s ball security, with just two giveaways this season.

The NFL suspended Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw one game without pay for post-game comments toward referee Brad Allen following Denver’s 33-32 win over the Giants. Citing Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1(b), the league said Greenlaw chased Allen and verbally threatened him as the official left the field; a video shows their interaction. Linebacker Justin Strnad also appeared to address Allen and apparently slap him somewhat forcefully in the back. Greenlaw has the right to an expedited appeal. The Broncos face the Cowboys on Sunday in Denver.

Colman Domingo has been cast as the Cowardly Lion in Wicked: For Good, ending days of online speculation. The film’s Instagram confirmed the news with a video of Domingo amid plush lions, closing with his “See you in Oz.” Director Jon M. Chu said he approached him via Instagram after teasing a “major star” for the role. The sequel features Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum, and continues Elphaba and Glinda’s diverging paths. Wicked: For Good is slated for release on 21 November.

A study published Monday in the New England Journal of Medicine reports that 38 people with age-related macular degeneration regained partial central vision using a tiny retinal implant paired with camera-equipped smart glasses. The 2-by-2-millimeter photovoltaic device, surgically placed under the retina, converts near infrared images from the glasses into electrical pulses to the optic nerve. After a year, 26 of 32 remaining participants saw better than at baseline—enough for many to tackle crosswords and read books—though vision remained blurry and monochrome. The technology, now owned by Science Corporation, was acquired from Pixium Vision after funding ran out.

Authorities have confirmed that human remains found Saturday in a shallow grave behind the abandoned Ada H. Lewis Middle School are those of 23-year-old Kada Scott, missing since Oct. 4. District Attorney Larry Krasner said DNA verified the identity as his office announced new charges against 21-year-old Keon King— including arson causing catastrophe, conspiracy and other offenses—while preparing to seek homicide charges once probable cause is established. Prosecutors said others may have been involved, though unidentified. Scott’s family expressed trust in investigators and gratitude to the public after an anonymous tip led police to the site.

The No Kings protests swept U.S. cities on Oct. 18, with marchers in Portland, New York, and San Francisco — some dressed as animals and military clowns. In Washington, D.C., on Oct. 17, cartoon effigies lampooned Vice President J.D. Vance, Kristi Noem, President Donald Trump, and Stephen Miller. The NYPD estimated over 100,000 marched in New York; more than a thousand rallied in Venice, Florida. On Ocean Beach, San Francisco, protesters formed a human banner urging Yes on 50 ahead of a Nov. 4 vote to redraw California's congressional districts, a measure backed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Former FBI Director James Comey moved to toss his two-count federal indictment, alleging a vindictive, unconstitutional case driven by President Trump’s “personal animus” and an unlawfully appointed prosecutor. In filings, attorney Patrick Fitzgerald also challenges interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s authority and seeks discovery into charging decisions. A hearing on the first motions is set for Nov. 19 in Alexandria, while a separate judge will weigh the appointment challenge. Prosecutors, meanwhile, signaled they may seek to disqualify Fitzgerald and asked for a filter team to review potentially privileged materials.
