Talks between YouTube TV and ESPN remain far apart, sources say, as the Philadelphia Eagles vs Green Bay Packers Monday Night Football game nears. Without a deal, 10 million YouTube TV subscribers face a second weekend without ESPN, missing college football Saturday and Monday Night Football, though Sunday NFL games on Fox, CBS, NBC and RedZone continue. Disputes include pricing and a Most Favored Nation clause, while YouTube TV’s base approaches Spectrum and Comcast. An executive move by Justin Connolly from Disney to YouTube, followed by his recusal, still hangs over negotiations. Fans remain sidelined.

Virginia Republican Carrie Coyner conceded after losing her House of Delegates seat to Democrat Lindsey Dougherty, 52.5% to 47.3%, despite publicizing 2022 texts in which Democrat Jay Jones fantasized about giving House of Delegates speaker Todd Gilbert 'two bullets to the head.' Jones apologized, Republicans amplified the messages, and Abigail Spanberger condemned the texts while leaving judgment to voters. Both Spanberger and Jones won the Republican-held offices they sought. Coyner called service an honor and said she would refocus on family and her law practice amid a wider debate over political violence.

Evangelical backing for Israel, long a pillar of right-leaning politics, is showing cracks, especially among younger conservatives. Pastor Jackson Lahmeyer says online debate has shifted as influencers like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens question the US Israel relationship; Carlson recently hosted white nationalist Nick Fuentes while disputing some of his antisemitic claims. Pollsters report steep drops in sympathy for Israel among Republicans under 50 and evangelicals aged 18-34. Scholars warn that waning support could endanger US aid, even as Christian Zionists remain Israel's most organized American allies.

Florida finally unveiled 7-foot-9 redshirt freshman Olivier Rioux in its 104-64 rout of Northern Florida, as 'We Want Ollie' chants pushed coach Todd Golden to sub him in with 2:09 left. The Canadian center, officially the tallest player in college basketball history, drew a wild reaction, logged two minutes, and no stats. Rioux, who redshirted during last season’s title run after entering Guinness in 2022 as the tallest living male teenager, called the support 'amazing.' Golden praised his patience and said he wished Rioux had gotten a touch.

While Republicans took a beating at the polls and the government shutdown became the longest in history, Miami hosted an opulent Trump headlined business forum where tickets hit $1,990 and attendees got $50 food cards. Advocates blasted the gesture as tone-deaf in a county where nearly a quarter of households rely on SNAP and 42 million Americans, including 3 million Floridians, just saw benefits slashed. Trump touted a golden age, mocked rivals, and basked in applause from a youthful, affluent crowd, as celebrities and financiers circled. Critics called the spectacle a stark display of detachment from soaring housing and food costs.

The FAA will cut air traffic by 10% at busy airports as the shutdown leaves short-staffed, unpaid controllers, prompting airline cancellations and traveler anxiety. The Trump administration is appealing a ruling to restore full SNAP benefits today after a judge said partial payments fell short and pointed to customs revenue. As the shutdown becomes the longest, some Trump allies urge a domestic focus. An NPR analysis finds drivers with poor credit pay far more for auto insurance. Also in brief: a D.C. sandwich-assault acquittal and preliminary shareholder approval of a conditional Musk pay package at Tesla.

Wall Street woke to a jolt of headlines: Tesla investors approved Elon Musk’s nearly $1 trillion pay plan, lifting his stake to 25% and tying stock awards to milestones including 1 million Optimus robots. Tech shares fell as AI valuation worries resurfaced; the Nasdaq dropped 1.9% and job cuts hit 153,074 in October. President Donald Trump announced deals with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to cut obesity drug costs, with Medicare coverage starting mid 2026. Amid the funding debate, OpenAI said annualized revenue tops $20 billion. Target will limit store fulfillment to improve messy in store experiences.

From trade deadline calls to midseason pressure, AFC North beat writers dissected where their teams stand. The Steelers added safety Kyle Dugger but passed on a receiver, a polarizing choice given their veteran-heavy roster. Baltimore’s trio of moves drew approval, though concerns linger about thin lines. Cincinnati kept Trey Hendrickson despite a collapsing defense, clinging to elite offensive metrics. Cleveland stayed mostly quiet as Kevin Stefanski ceded play-calling to Tommy Rees. Coaches under scrutiny include Teryl Austin, Zach Orr and Al Golden, with most panelists picking Browns and Steelers to win.

Raiders quarterback Geno Smith endured a bruising Thursday, throwing his league-high 12th interception and taking six sacks in a 10-7 loss to the Broncos that dropped the Raiders to 2-7. The offense managed 188 yards. Smith left early in the fourth with a quad contusion, then returned after two snaps, saying he played through a lot of pain because he didn't want to leave teammates out there alone. After a missed field goal, Denver drained the clock. Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said Smith wouldn't have returned if they'd gotten the ball back. Week 11 is Monday night.

Qualcomm pushed back on talk that Samsung's Galaxy S26 will mostly use Exynos, saying on its Q4 call it still expects to power about 75% of devices in 2026. Executives called 75% the new baseline and noted Galaxy S25 used Qualcomm across the board. That contrasts with reports praising the Exynos 2600's pre-release results said to top Apple's A19 Pro and run up to six times faster in AI NPU tasks, with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reportedly 30% slower. Qualcomm's stance isn't an order confirmation; clarity is expected by the S26's January launch.
