An American Airlines flight operated by SkyWest made an emergency return to Omaha on Monday after pilots lost contact with the cabin crew and began banging on the locked cockpit door, alarming passengers. Flight 6569 departed for Los Angeles at 7:23 p.m. ET but landed back at Eppley Airfield 36 minutes later, according to FlightRadar. The FAA said the plane landed safely after an emergency was declared when the pilot couldn’t reach the cabin crew; a faulty inter-phone system was later identified. Video after landing shows the captain telling passengers the crew returned to figure out what was wrong.
