Trump Jan. 6 pardon recipient charged with Jeffries death threat

A New York man pardoned by President Donald Trump for his Jan. 6 role has been charged with threatening to kill House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, New York State Police said. Christopher Moynihan, 34, of Clinton, faces a terroristic threat charge and is held on $10,000 cash bail. He previously pleaded guilty to misdemeanors and was convicted of a felony tied to the Capitol riot, then received a Jan. 20, 2025 pardon among about 1,500 people. Jeffries thanked law enforcement and called the threat credible, saying many released after Trump’s blanket pardon have since committed additional crimes.
