Ten face trial accused of cyberbullying French president's wife Brigitte Macron

Ten people go on trial in Paris on Monday, accused of cyberbullying Brigitte Macron by spreading "malicious" online claims that the first lady is a man and labeling her age gap with the president as "paedophilia." The defendants—eight men and two women, ages 41 to 60—include a self-described medium, an advertising executive with a suspended X account, an elected official, a teacher and a computer scientist. The two-day hearing comes amid years of conspiracy theories and defamation cases in France and the U.S.; a verdict is expected at a later date.
