Singapore's move to preserve Lee Kuan Yew's home as a national monument has reignited a bitter family feud. A day after the government said 38 Oxley Road is of national significance and should be protected, Lee's youngest son, Lee Hsien Yang, denounced the plan, saying it defies his father's explicit wish to demolish the private house. Authorities issued notice of intent to preserve, plan to acquire the property and open it to the public, possibly as a heritage park, while removing traces of the family's private living spaces.
