Israel receives hostage remains amid Gaza strikes

Israel said Palestinian militants returned the remains of two hostages, handing them to the Red Cross in Gaza for transfer to Israel and identification, a sign the fragile ceasefire is inching forward despite new strikes. Officials in southern Gaza reported at least 40 people injured in overnight strikes on Khan Younis, which the Israeli army said targeted terrorist infrastructure threatening its troops. Israel linked earlier strikes to the fatal shooting of a soldier in Rafah. Speaking in Israel, Netanyahu warned of powerful strikes if Hamas violates the ceasefire; Hamas denied the shooting and accused Israel of breaking the deal.
