Remains transferred as Israel and Hamas back ceasefire

Israel received the remains of two people Hamas said were deceased hostages, handed over via the Red Cross and sent to a national forensics lab. If confirmed, 11 bodies would still be in Gaza. The transfer followed Israeli strikes that killed more than 100 Palestinians, including at least 46 children, after a Hamas attack killed an Israeli soldier in Rafah. Despite the bloodshed, both sides said they remain committed to a US brokered ceasefire. The move came after disputes over earlier returns, including a staged recovery condemned by the Red Cross, and accusations of a deal violation.
