Tanzania leader blames foreigners amid post election unrest
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan blamed foreigners for last week’s deadly post-election protests, acknowledged lives lost, and urged security forces to restore calm. Her swearing-in on government grounds in Dodoma, a departure from a previous stadium inauguration, came amid intermittent internet, shuttered shops and gas stations, and a postponed university reopening after the Oct. 29 unrest.
