Trump Endorses Cuomo for NYC Mayor and Attacks Mamdani Before Election

Hours before Election Day, President Trump formally urged New Yorkers to back Andrew M. Cuomo for mayor, after weeks of signaling his preference. In a social media post, he mocked Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani as a “liddle” communist, warned the city would face “Complete and Total” disaster if Mamdani wins, and threatened to limit federal funds. He argued a vote for Republican Curtis Sliwa is effectively a vote for Mamdani; Cuomo agreed on WABC. Sliwa struck a neutral tone, while Mamdani’s camp cast Trump’s embrace as damning for Cuomo.
