‘Ridiculousness’ canceled at MTV in aftermath of Paramount layoffs

MTV has canceled its long-running clip show Ridiculousness, though its 46th season will keep airing through 2026, according to two sources familiar with the decision. The network is shifting to a more curated slate as Paramount Skydance enacts sweeping layoffs affecting about 10% of roughly 20,000 employees, following the Trump administration’s approval of an $8 billion merger with Skydance. Host Rob Dyrdek, who has said he loves viral videos, has not publicly commented. The series, which premiered Aug. 29, 2011, has dominated MTV’s linear schedule.
