Heidi Klum debuted a petrifying Medusa at her annual Halloween bash in midtown Manhattan, her costume crowned with more than a dozen animatronic snakes and a nearly eight-foot tail housing batteries and wheels. Built with prosthetics designer Mike Marino and inspired by Ray Harryhausen’s 1981 Clash of the Titans Medusa, it took several dozen people, a scaled mask and gloves, acrylic fangs, and a five-inch split tongue suctioned to her own. Eating and bathroom breaks were tough—she wore an adult diaper—while husband Tom Kaulitz came as a warrior turned to stone. She already has next year’s look in mind.
