Iran Says JCPOA Restrictions End After Expiry

With the 2015 nuclear deal expiring ten years after its UN adoption, Iran said all JCPOA restrictions and oversight mechanisms are now terminated, though it “firmly” remains committed to diplomacy. Western powers have long accused Tehran of blocking UN inspections and enriching near weapons-grade levels; the U.S. exited the pact in 2018, and revival talks have stalled. Iran halted cooperation with the IAEA after U.S. and Israeli strikes on its nuclear sites in June. Britain, France and Germany triggered sanctions snapback in August but last week proposed renewed talks, which Tehran dismissed as unnecessary.
