Former IDF legal chief arrested after leak

Israel’s former top military lawyer, Maj Gen Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, was found safe after hours missing and then arrested, intensifying political fight over a leaked video of alleged severe abuse of a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman base. She resigned last week as Military Advocate General, saying she approved media releases to counter false propaganda. Police said two people were arrested over the leak; Israeli media named her and ex chief prosecutor Col Matan Solomosh. Five reservists have been charged and deny wrongdoing, as right and left clash and leaders, including Israel Katz and Benjamin Netanyahu, issue fierce denunciations.
