People will rally Saturday in Washington and across the U.S. for “No Kings” demonstrations protesting President Donald Trump’s direction, as an 18-day government shutdown grinds on. Organizers say more than 2,600 events — the third and largest mobilization since Trump’s return — will feature Democrats including Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders, joining a movement organizers cast as a bulwark against authoritarianism. Republicans dismiss them as “Hate America” rallies and blame them for the shutdown. Trump, away at Mar-a-Lago for a $1 million-per-plate fundraiser, said in a Fox interview, “I’m not a king.”
