A senior Border Patrol official who has become the face of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdowns in Los Angeles and Chicago is set to be questioned in court Tuesday over Chicago operations that produced more than 1,800 arrests and complaints of excessive force. U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis—who ordered badges and later body cameras amid footage of tear gas—extended Greg Bovino’s questioning to five hours, citing incidents in Little Village. Attorneys say Bovino threw tear gas into a crowd. Over the weekend, masked agents and unmarked SUVs appeared in Lakeview and Lincoln Park, where chemical agents were deployed.
