Flight diverted after passenger allegedly stabbed two teens with metal fork: Authorities

A Lufthansa flight from Chicago to Germany diverted to Boston on Saturday after authorities say passenger Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, 28, stabbed two 17-year-olds with a metal fork, striking one in the shoulder and the other in the head, causing a laceration. Prosecutors say that as crew tried to subdue him, he mimed shooting himself, slapped a nearby woman, and tried to slap a crew member. He was taken into custody at Boston Logan International Airport and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Lufthansa said the Frankfurt-bound flight did not continue as scheduled; passengers got hotel stays and rebooking.
