As strikes on alleged drug boats grow, so do questions about their legality : NPR

The U.S. military carried out two more strikes on alleged drug boats in the eastern Pacific, the eighth and ninth such attacks, after weeks of buildup near Venezuela. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted video of a speedboat erupting in flames, as President Trump touted authority to act in international waters and hinted at possible land operations. The administration has offered no public evidence the targets carried drugs or were cartel members; at least 37 people have been killed. Lawmakers, legal experts and U.N. specialists warn the campaign may violate U.S. and international law, while Colombia condemned the strikes.
