Trump urges New Yorkers to vote for Cuomo for mayor

On the eve of New York City’s mayoral vote, President Donald Trump urged residents to back Andrew Cuomo, calling the former governor “capable” and dismissing Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani as unfit. He warned he’d restrict federal funds if Mamdani wins and discouraged support for Republican Curtis Sliwa. Polls show Mamdani ahead by double digits. Cuomo also drew a late endorsement from Elon Musk. Mamdani seized on Trump’s remarks, arguing the support proves Cuomo would serve Trump, not New Yorkers. Trump also took aim at Gov. Kathy Hochul and said he’d ask Transportation Secretary Dean Duffy to review congestion pricing.
