FBI Director Kash Patel pushed back at critics and “baseless rumors” amid backlash over his alleged private use of an FBI jet, tied to a trip to watch his girlfriend perform at a professional wrestling event last weekend. On Friday, he fired Steven Palmer, a 27-year bureau veteran and former assistant deputy director of the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group, which oversees pilots, Bloomberg Law reported, citing three people familiar. The trip to State College drew attention from Kyle Seraphin, a former FBI agent turned podcaster. In August, Wilkins sued Seraphin for alleged defamation over claims on his show.
