White House fires arts commission that reviews federal building designs : NPR

The White House has dismissed six members of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts and plans to appoint replacements aligned with President Trump’s America First policies. Those terminated include Bruce Redman Becker, Peter D. Cook, Lisa E. Delplace, William J. Lenihan, Justin Garrett Moore, and vice chair Hazel Ruth Edwards; the chair is vacant, previously held by Billie Tsien. The panel had been expected to weigh in on a proposed White House ballroom and a monument modeled on the Arc de Triomphe, though no plans have been submitted. New commissioners have not been announced.
