NEW DELHI — A major cyber breach has exposed thousands of sensitive engineering and construction files tied to the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, India’s largest nuclear facility. The ransomware group World Leaks, formerly known as Hunters International, published the data cache on the dark web, Reuters reported on July 16, 2026. The group says it stole the files from Reliance Group, an engineering contractor on the project. About 19,000 files, totaling 14.3 gigabytes, relate directly to the plant and include detailed blueprints and system layouts. Reliance confirmed a partial breach on a server run by third-party provider Yotta Data Services and notified authorities.

This breach could impact global nuclear safety. It's a wake-up call to double-check your own digital security. Are your passwords strong? Have you updated your software recently? It's worth a quick check.
Cybercrime is a real threat, even to nuclear power plants. While officials haven't confirmed any immediate danger, it's a stark reminder of our digital vulnerabilities. Worth forwarding if you know someone who's lax about online security.
