Los Angeles, United States – Cast members of Christopher Nolan’s new film “The Odyssey,” including Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o and Matt Damon, are drawing significant attention on the global press tour for their red carpet fashion, even as the movie faces heavy online criticism. The film has sparked backlash over several of Nolan’s creative decisions, including controversial casting choices, perceived historical inaccuracies and the use of modern dialogue in a story rooted in ancient Greek myth. Despite the negative reaction, the studio has continued an extensive promotional campaign, with premieres and photocalls in London and Paris as well as events in Los Angeles, showcasing the stars in a series of highly publicised looks. Zendaya has repeatedly appeared in Greek-inspired outfits that echo her character Athena, starting with a loose-fitting white Jacquemus gown with a halter neckline, dramatic low back, matching headscarf and gold disk earrings reportedly 2,000 to 3,000 years old. She later wore a sculpted Schiaparelli dress with mirrored bodice and a beaded ombré fringe skirt, followed by a sheer white lace gown with a torso cutout and thigh-high slit at the Paris premiere. Hathaway, who is pregnant with her third child, has styled her baby bump in flowing gowns from Blumarine, Dior and Louis Vuitton, while Nyong’o has appeared in both a floor-length sheer gown and an asymmetrical short white dress. Damon, who plays Odysseus, walked the carpet in a dark red suit and said on a recent podcast that preparing for the role required a complete lifestyle change.
