SPIELBERG, Austria, June 27 (Reuters) - George Russell secured pole position for Mercedes in qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg on Saturday, clocking a lap 0.236 seconds faster than Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc as the session ended in chaos. Despite the crash, an earlier lap was enough to secure Verstappen fifth place on the grid, and he said he believed a third-place start had been possible with a clean final attempt.
