United States racing driver Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, has died at the age of 41 following a severe illness, according to officials and an Associated Press 911 recording. Earlier this week, Busch called emergency services reporting acute shortness of breath, feeling overheated, and coughing up blood before being transported to hospital, where he later died. NASCAR teams and fans have since organized tributes at racetracks nationwide. Team owner Richard Childress confirmed the No. 8 car will be retired indefinitely and kept available for Busch’s son, Brexton. A formal memorial service is being planned at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
