Kyle Busch dies at 41 after sudden illness

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch died Thursday at age 41, three days before he was scheduled to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, according to statements from his family and NASCAR officials. Associated Press reported that Busch became unresponsive Wednesday while testing in a Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord, North Carolina, and was transported to a Charlotte hospital, where he later died. His cause of death has not been released, and it is unknown whether a recent reported sinus illness was related. Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion, held a record 234 wins across NASCAR’s three national series.
